How to Participate in $500 Beginners Races at Titan Poker

Getting started is simple. All you need to do is sit down at one of the "beginners" cash game tables at TitanPoker. The objective is to play as many raked hands as possible which in turn will boost you up in the rankings. The player who has the most points at the end of the week wins. The top 99 players that follow will receive a prize as well.

Tips for Titan Poker's $500 Beginners Races

When I checked out the previous weeks winners for the $500 Beginners Races, I noticed that the winner had played 3,096 hands. This led me to coming up with a tip or two on how to achieve this number, or better, of hands yourself.

The first thing that you need to keep in mind is that you're only credited with a raked hand if you contributed money to the pot. So this means that you'll average 20 hands or so per hour (20% vpip) at a 6-max table (100/per hour on average). At this rate, you won't be able to ever win, as you'd have to play 24hrs+ per day to make it.

This, of course, isn't possible. So my first tip is to play more than one table. In fact, you should play close to 5 tables so that you average about 100 hands per hour. If you can do that for 5 hours per day, you'll be able to achieve 3,000 hands in the time allotted. This should net you a top 3 spot consistently, good for $25+. Playing more than 5 tables will of course reduce the amount of time you need to spend playing.

My 2nd tip is more of a precaution and/or contradicts what I just said above.

But, I can see how some players would try to add more tables just to try to win the leaderboard. However, this might end up costing you more than what you stand to win. So definitely be sure to stay within your comfort zone. If you're only comfortable playing 3 tables, than only play 3 and play as many hours as you can. At the very least, you should be able to manage to get on the bottom of the leaderboard, which can be done by playing a mere 200 raked hands.
